Overview
Graduates of the MBA Accounting program are prepared for career specialty areas in accounting, financial analysis, auditing, budget preparation, financial accounting, government, finance, and consulting. The program allows students to develop their expertise to advance their careers in these areas and put their career on a forward track. The program can be completed entirely online, though some coursework is available to be taken onsite at the student’s option. The mission of the program is to prepare students to use advanced accounting skills for management-level careers in all areas of accounting including public accounting, private industry, federal, state and local governments and non-profit organizations by ensuring graduates are competent in the latest practices and principles of business, communication, ethics, management, accounting concepts and standard procedures.
Course structure
The MBA in Accounting programme is designed to develop advanced managerial and professional accounting competencies required in modern organizations. The programme integrates core business management principles with advanced financial reporting, auditing, taxation, and strategic accounting practices.
Students are encouraged to apply accounting theories and financial frameworks to practical business cases, ensuring strong analytical, ethical, and decision-making skills. The curriculum prepares graduates for senior roles in accounting, finance, audit, and corporate governance across public and private sectors.

PROGRAMME SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
The following are requirements for admission to the programme:
- At least three years of work experience in the public and private sectors, voluntary/community-based organizations, and international and non-governmental organizations;
- A recognized relevant University Degree from a well recognized institution and evidenced by transcripts and copies certificates, etc. An honours degree in related subject or UK level 6 diploma or an equivalent overseas qualification.
- English requirements: If a learner is not from a majority English-speaking country must provide evidence of English language competency.
Assessment and verification
We assess both the theoretical and practical elements of the course. Assessment is through written assignments, a profile of evidence of teaching standards and observed teaching. All modules within this program are internally assessed by approved center and externally verified by KIMT University. To achieve a pass for a module, learners must provide evidence to demonstrate that they have fulfilled all the learning outcomes and meet the standards specified by all assessment criteria. Judgment that the learners have successfully fulfilled the assessment criteria is made by the Assessor. The Assessor will provide an audit trail showing how the judgement of the learners’ overall achievement has been arrived at.
METHOD OF ASSESSMENT
Knowledge, understanding and intellectual skills are assessed through a combination of course assignments and consultancy project report. The weighting for the final overall assessment for each course taken shall be as follows:
- 50% Assignments
- 50% consultancy project report
