The Master of Arts in Economics (MA in Economics) program, conducted and awarded by KIMT University, is designed to develop analytical, quantitative, and policy-making skills in students through a rigorous curriculum rooted in economic theory and real-world application. The program prepares students for advanced careers in government, international organizations, financial institutions, academia, and the private sector.
Students will develop expertise in microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, and specialized fields such as international trade, public finance, and development economics.
Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will be able to:
- Apply advanced economic theories to evaluate and address complex economic issues.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative research using appropriate data and statistical tools.
- Formulate and analyze fiscal and monetary policy strategies.

- Professional experience in economics or policy (preferred but not mandatory).
- Applicants with a Postgraduate Diploma or equivalent (Level 7 RQF) may be considered for advanced standing via the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) policy (minimum 60 credits of relevant prior study required).
The MA in Economics program consists of 90 credits, divided into core courses and a thesis. Each course is worth 6 credits, while the thesis accounts for 12 credits. The course structure is as follows:

To successfully complete the MA in Economics, students are expected to:
- Dedicate approximately 15-20 hours per week to coursework, including readings, assignments, and discussions.

- Complete all assignments, exams, and the capstone project within the stipulated deadlines.
- Maintain regular communication with faculty and peers to enhance learning outcomes.

- A personal statement of approximately 350 – 400 words. The statement should focus on the applicant’s interest in economics, how the program will impact their career, and how they plan to balance work, life, and study commitments.
